BUSINESS LUNCH WITH THE MINISTER OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS OF BURUNDI H.E EZÉCHIEL NIBIGIRA, 07.03.2020, ISTANBUL

Turkey – Burundi Business Council with its President Sedat Kaymak, hosted the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Burundi H.E Ezéchiel Nibigira, Ambassador of Burundi to Ankara H.E Gérard Bikebako and the accompanying delegation in a business lunch on 7th of March Saturday.In the lunch where fruitful discussions have taken place, the steps to be taken in order to strengthen the business ties between two countries were examined and possible areas of cooperation were discussed. H.E Minister made the following remark." The sectors in which Burundi needs investment in order to make economic progress are present in Turkey and they are very strong. The rapprochement between the two countries are vital to us, we must ensure its continuity. Our economic development will take place by virtue of FDIs. I invite you all to invest in Burundi.It will be of great benefit for you to see the activities of our country within the framework of 10 year development plan in its place.  We are planning to change the capital city of Burundi. For the new political center we will need infrastructure and constructing along with roads that would link the center to other regions. We have a railway project to establish a connection with Tanzania. To speak about the energy sector, the need for regeneration and growth is stable. The sector must expand enough to accommodate the needs of the growing population. I advise the Turkish companies to use those opportunities."
