According to the statement delivered by the Ministry of Economy on September 23, 2017, appointment of  Nail Olpak, took in charge of the office of Vice-President of Board of Directors and member of Executive Board of DEİK for 3 yearsin substitution for the Ömer Cihad Vardanwho was the former President of Board of Directors and assigned during the transformation process of DEİK in 2014 was resolved accordingly. 

 

The Minister of Economy Nihat Zeybekci has emphasized in his assessment he made regarding the matter that activities for the process of reorganization of DEİK since 2014 that was designed to coordinately manage the Turkey's foreign economic relations through the cooperation between the private and public sector and with the participations of the entire stakeholders are sustained and maintained. Zeybekci, presenting his gratitude on his behalf and on behalf of his Ministry to President Vardan who has successfully carried out his duties as the President of DEİK Board of Directors for 3 years and wished him success for the duties and offices he would take from now onward. Zeybekci, stating that DEİK, growing stronger with the supports of the President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, is a substantial platform for the entire Founding Enterprises, further noted that he has confidence in Nail Olpak, who has successfully fulfilled his important tasks and duties assumed in various Non-Governmental Organizations and enterprises that he shall continue to perform significant services in DEİK.

 

Olpak, taking on a task as the President of the Board of Directors, extended his thanks for the new appointment and highlighted the importance of this new task in DEİK. Olpak said, "First of all I would like present my gratitude to our Minister of Economy Nihat Zeybekci who deemed me worthy of this task and to our Prime Minister Binali Yıldırım and our President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan who have supported this decision. Our next objective as it was up until today and so it shall be, together with our Board of Directors and Business Councils is to endeavour with all our strength and will to increase and enhance the welfare, prosperity and happiness of our nations, rendering our country to be more effective and efficient in international area and to leave a more habitable, better and equitable world for the future of our children under the coordination of our Ministry of Economy and in accordance with the objectives and targets of our country."

 

The Ministry of Economy Nihat Zeybekci has attended to the meeting of DEİK Board of Directors on Wednesday, September 27, 2017 and provided information to the Board of Directors on the activities to be performed by DEİK.
