In a statement regarding the current upheaval in the country, DEİK President Ömer Cihad Vardan said: "Turkey is a country with an established multiparty democratic system. Its governments are elected by the people. The Turkish business community stands behind the elected government and is committed to democracy. We reject any type of coup. The only will we recognise is the will of the elected government. We are convinced that our country will emerge stronger from this upheaval."
