Turkish companies have a strong presence in Turkmenistan in the construction and contracting business as well as in the textile, food, agriculture, energy and manufacturing industries. The main purpose of the DEİK/Türkiye-Turkmenistan Business Council is to strengthen the Turkmen side, to transfer Türkiye’s SME knowhow to its counterpart country and to encourage Turkish SME to invest in Turkmenistan. The Council also promotes Turkmenistan in Turkey and informs the Turkish business community about the potentials the other country offers. The Council is aware of the fact that a focus on construction alone will not advance the economic relations between Türkiye and Turkmenistan. That requires a more balanced approach involving all sectors or trade and industry.
