DEİK/Türkiye-Nigeria Business Council’s aim is to serve as a platform to exploit current bilateral cooperation potential, to extend the bilateral trade and to strengthen economic ties between our countries. Council was established in January 2011 and the Business Council Establishment Agreement was signed on 2 October 2012 on the occasion of the International Garment Fair organised in Lagos in October 2-4 2012.
The Business Council is lobbying for the trade agreements, in particular a Free Trade Treaty, an Agreement on Reciprocal Encouragement and Protection of Investments, which has been signed but not yet ratified, and a Treaty for the Avoidance of Double Taxation. In addition, the Council organises mutual business delegation visits.
