The DEİK/Türkiye-Saudi Arabia Business Council was established in 2003 with the Council of Saudi Chambers of Commerce and Industry assuming the role of Counterpart Organisation. In the light of current economic relations and the cooperation potential that Saudi Arabia promises, the Council has focussed its activities on expanding the volume of trade between the two countries, on contracting, tourism, the advancement of cooperation and joint ventures in areas of mutual interest, on the identification and exploitation of Turkish-Saudi collaborations in third countries, on the identification of legislation and practices that impede trade and joint ventures, on lobbying the respective authorities for their amendment or removal, and on promoting Türkiye and the Turkish economy in Saudi Arabia. For this purpose, the Council has established seven sub-committees dealing with the issues of agriculture, food, water, energy, construction and infrastructure, real estate property, services, industry and logistics.
The Business Council and its Counterpart Organisation, the Council of Saudi Chambers of Commerce and Industry, hold annual Joint Meetings and sub-committee meetings in both Saudi Arabia and Türkiye.
