The DEİK/Türkiye-Ukraine Business Council was established on 25 April 1991. It was the first Business Council with one of the republics that gained independence upon the breakup of the former USSR. The Council organises events that bring leading representatives of the business communities of both countries and high-level officials together. These events serve as platform for the establishment of business contacts and contributed greatly to the advanced status of economic and trade relations between the two countries.
The Business Council maintains close ties with the private sector and public institutions in both Türkiye and Ukraine. If informs the Turkish side about economic developments, legislative changes and business opportunities in the counterpart country, and supports companies that want to establish business contacts. The Council also vigorously lobbies for the solution of problems identified in bilateral trade and economic relations.
