The newly appointed Ambaasador of Turkey to N'Djamena H.E Kemal Kaygısız attended the business lunch organized by the Turkey – Chad Business Council on 16th of December 2019. In the event which took place in Ankara, discussions were made regarding the future planning and activities.
On 12th of December 2019, the joint meeting of the Energy Business Council and Turkey – Chad Business Council was held within the framework of the visit of National Mining and Geology Company of Chad (SONAMIG) to Turkey in coordination with the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources. SONAMIG was represented by its General Director Abderahman Hamdane and Communications Responsible Ahmat Baba Habib.Mehmet Ertaç Bulut, Executive Member of the Turkey – Chad Business Council, opened the meeting by introducing DEİK and sharing information regarding the activities of the Business Council and it counterpart organisations. Mr. Outhman has also introduced SONAMIG and stated that they were ready and willing to support foreign investors by every means and primarily tax exemptions and that the government of Chad was responsible of the security of investors. He declared that their main task was to enable the development of geology and mining sectors thus fostering welfare in the country. He added that Sonamig had 13 licenses,that they were wishing to act in cooperation with international partners when trading precious metals, and that there were no industrial gold refineries in Chad. Mr. Outhman answered the questions of the participants regarding security, expulsion and processing of precious metals and reiterated that they were disposed to cooperate
Turkey – Chad Business Council Meeting was held on 27th of February 2019. President of the Chamber of Commerce of Chad Amir Adoudou, President of the Chad National Employers Council Bichara Doudoua, President of the Turkey – Chad Business Council Can Hakan Karaca, Turkish Ambassador to N'Djamena Erdal Sabri Ergen, Chad Trade and Economy Councillor in Ankara Adanao Saleh Moussa have attended the meeting held in Ankara, within the framework of the official visit by the President of Chad Idriss Déby to Turkey, accompanied by the heads of counterpart organizations to Turkey – Chad Business Council. Strengthening of the present bilateral trade relations and incentivizing the joint investments were the topics discussed in the meeting. As a result of the meeting, it was decided to organize an Investment and Trade Delegation to Chad in upcoming months.
