DEİK/Türkiye-Tunisia Business Council was established in 1990 under the roof of Türkiye-Africa Business Councils. DEİK’s counterpart is the Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Handicrafts Tunisia (UTICA).The Business Council organises meetings with businesspeople in order to increase the trade volume between Türkiye and Tunisia. The Council also lobbied for a mutually beneficial Free Trade Agreement, the treaty was finally ratified in 2005.The focus areas of the Business Council’s activities are textiles, garments and shoes, furniture, the automotive supplying industry, tourism, construction contracting and the fishing industry.
