In 2006, DEİK established the DEİK/Türkiye-Oman Business Council. The purpose of the Council is to boost the trade volume between the two countries, to encourage cooperation and joint ventures in contracting, tourism and investment areas of mutual interest, to identify and exploit Turkish-Omani collaboration opportunities in third countries, and to promote the Turkish economy in Oman. In this context, the Business Council and its Counterpart Organisation, the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry, hold annual Joint Meetings in both Oman and Türkiye. Those meetings mainly serve the purpose of promoting investments in Türkiye.
